5I'm happy with it; so far works as advertised.
By MKnight
I purchased this item less than a month ago but I must say that I'm happy with this purchase.I purchased it directly from amazon so I was not charged for shipping (supposedly lol), and ended up paying around 1,099 for the whole thing. Granted, this bike is pricey but I did a lot of research before deciding on this particular brand/model. Plus believe me there are other options out there way more expensive than this, so I tried to balance functionality, quality and price. Another important aspect for me was the looks of it, there were cheaper options but looked fugly and didn't have any brand names behind them. Enough of that, now about the bike itself:It required little assembly when I got it, it came with the tools and everything. It didnt come with assembly instructions which really sucked but I managed to put it together (plus it came almost fully assembled, just had to attach a few parts here and there).I have to say that I'm not very savvy when it comes to bicycles and its technical aspects, but I did enough research to know that the shimano shift/gears system was decent. The build of the whole frame feels strong enough (I weight around 215 pounds but it supports up to 350!). The height is perfect for me (Im around 5'8 and I like to just barely be able to touch the ground when still seated, its not the official recommendation but just what I feel comfortable with because of frequent stops etc; plus you can adjust the height so thats not an issue). The frame is big enough so that I dont feel too big for this bike. One of the most important things for me was to be able to ride it using only the battery power, and it works like a charm. You can do electric only, and/or you can pedal w/ the electric assistance (makes u go faster). Obviously this is the main feature of this bike and it just works. The battery is removable and comes with an adapter and cable for charging. When it is on the unit you can lock it with a key. The on/off switch is on top of the battery and you can reach it from a seated position. The accelerator is on the right handle bar (and lights switch is on the right side as well). It has a battery meter on the left handle bar and a ringer bell. The battery also has a meter where u can press a button to see how much charge it has.I have not tested the unit really really thoroughly yet but so far I'm impressed with the battery life and the performance of it.The looks of the bicycle are just great, some people don't even know its electric. This bike looks better in person than what the pictures show (I got the black model). For the record I have the men's version (since the womens version has different specs - frame is different etc).I will (hopefully) update this review later on (prob pics too), but for now I just have to say that I'm happy with this purchase.

2Company miraculously returns to business.
By agingBiker
I bought an XB300Li in October. It arrived with a dud power-charger. I contacted the company and they quickly sent me a replacement (I paid to ship the old charger back to them).About 6 weeks later, while cycling home in heavy rain, the motor started to go off and on randomly, and eventually stopped working all together. I contacted the company and they asked me to take the bike to their distribution center in Fife, WA. They said it would take 7 to 10 days to repair. It has been 7 weeks now since I dropped off the bike.I don't know what has happened to the company, but they are not answering emails or phone calls. Searching the web, I found others are reporting the same. The bike comes with NO repair manual and no technical details, so if you buy a bike and it fails (as seems likely from my experience), that'll likely be the end of the line. Even a puncture in the back tire will prove challenging to fix.Until they suddenly stopped responding, my experience with the company was very positive - component failures not withstanding. The bike felt solid and rode well, and the support staff were friendly and polite and seemed efficient. Sad that they behaved so poorly in the end.UPDATE: A few days after submitting this review, I was contacted by the company and told my bike had been repaired (on warranty). Apparently they are back in business. I collected my bike yesterday and all is fine.

1Wish I had not purchased this bike.
By dave
Just got bike 2011/2012 verion. Will return it, which will cost me over $150 to ship it back. I don't know about the 2010 version, but the new 2011/2012 verson has no headlight on it (a cheap looing tiny AA battery attach on light was included instead in the box), seat very small and hard with no shock springs like in the photos. There is no battery power charge indicator on the handlebars like in the photos. The paint looks very, very dull and flat, looks like someone took a can of black spray paint to spray the bike. Very, very, very disapointed. Would never buy again. Don't recommend at all.Update: Also tires leak air constantly, must be leaking from the stems. I really wished I had not brought this bike : (
