I purchased this bike used, about 10 months old and in good shape. The previous owner had taken the goofy looking basket off and it has stayed off. I like the Currie Metro because it has a three level pedal assist system. The other Currie i tested did not, and when pedal assist kicks in it can get a brust of power that can surprise you when you are in tight spots - like a parking lot.The downside so far - owned 4 months with regular use by my son who took it almost everyday back and forth to tennis clinics - is that the chain will sometimes fall off when you hit a big bump and he has gotten quite a few flat tires both front and back. He rides it about 8 miles total back and forth to the clinics. The brakes seem to need fairly frequent adjustment. The upsides are that i no longer have to use the car to drop him off and then pick him up - 16 miles when you have to go back and forth twice. And the bike is holding up well.Oh, and if you are not mechanically inclined, fixing a flat on the back tire is a pretty big deal. We had to do some hard pounding to get the back tire off. Just a real tight fit with the back forks.I also use the bike to make trips to the store - about 6 miles round trip. Great going up hills. I do worry that someone will steal it even though i have it locked to a bike rack in front of the store - i have not insured it and 2600 is a chunk of change to lose.Someday these bikes will have much wider use... i rarely see anyone on and electric bike. Real novelity where i live.
