By Gary
Evelo e-bike has given me my independence back! I haven't owned a car in almost 20 years because I have always ridden my bicycle everywhere I need to go.Last year was my fiftieth birthday and I began noticing that the inclines and hills were becoming too much for me. The day I had to get off my bike and walk up an especially steep hill I began considering the purchase of a car because I didn't think I would be able to continue using my bicycle as a primary means of transportation.Fortunately, before I purchased a vehicle I ran into an old friend who was using an electric bicycle. I was intrigued and began researching my options. After a few days, I've come across Evelo e-bikes and really liked the Aurora frame. The design was interesting as it's somewhat of a step-through, so getting on and off the bike seemed pretty easy. And I was really intrigued by the mid-drive motor - it just makes so much sense to do it this way.Anyway, since the closest dealer was about 400 miles away, I was a bit apprehensive about ordering such an expensive product online. But I did and I'm glad I did so.The bike arrived just 3 days later. On the website, it says that it takes about 15 minutes to assemble it. It probably took me about 30-40 in reality. Still not bad, though. Just needed to put in the front wheel, handlebars and pedals on and adjust the brakes a bit.Since then, I've put on about 400 miles on the bike and have been really impressed so far. The mid-drive motor really does perform superbly. I've ridden next to my friend who introduced me to electric bikes and his 500W motor and I still am able to go faster than him, especially on the hills.Overall, the bike is pretty easy handle - even with the extra weight that the motor and battery add. It runs smoothly with power on and is pretty fast and easy to pedal with the power off. It's solidly made, the customer support has been very responsive whenever I had questions, and the price tag is reasonable. I look forward to many more years of using it.

By Jill Wheeler
From Ron Wheeler...Just wanted to send some thoughts about by first two months on the Aurora. In three words "what a treat".When my wife got her Luna and I watched her zip along the hilly roads where we live, I knew I had to get an Evelo of my own. It really is a joy to ride. I am 56 and I thought I was done with biking - not so, since the Evelo Aurora arrived at my door. Assembly was a cinch (1 hour) if you have any mechanical bike experience. The quality of the bike is great and the motor and battery do live up to the claims. The NuVinci hub takes it over the top. Great technologies. I really see e-bikes as a growing trend - anyone spending any amount of time in Europe sees them buzzing down roads as commonly as cars. Thanks to the Evelo team for bringing an excellent center motor e-bike to the US market.

By Kara
We purchased this bike and could not believe the customer service we received! We had questions because we bought both this bike and the Luna model and my husband is 6'4" and I am 5'1", so we wanted to be sure that we each, with our extremes in size, could comfortably ride these bikes. The CEO of the company responded to our request for information, helped us tremendously and we purchased the bikes, which were here in virtually no time (less than 1 week). Although we did not put the bikes together (our handyman helped!), by all accounts they didn't take long to put together. They were VERY easy to ride. We purchased the upgraded tNuVinci transmission/drive due to my husband's size (6'4", 260 lbs) and couldn't believe how easy these bikes shifted, how intuitive they are to ride! You can ride them as a regular bike, with a little bit of "pedal assist" from the throttle, or on full throttle just like a scooter. Although we ride ours for pleasure, as along the beach to a breakfast place we like that is 6 miles away, I could see these bikes solving the problem of biking to work in work clothing, (use full throttle) and biking home (when you can get your workout without worrying about arriving fresh to work). These bikes are an investment, but I thoroughly recommend them for baby boomers like us, who want to be active but build up to riding longer distances, commuters, or anyone who wants a HUGE smile on his face as he pedals a bike at speeds he could not ride alone!
