Product Description

Prodeco Technologies Phantom X2 Electric Bike - 12 Ah Lithium Powered, 20 mph, 28-38 Mile Range, 2 Year Warranty, Built in the USA
A New Way to Bike
As stylish as it is powerful, the Phantom X2 is considered by industry insiders to be the most aggressive and affordable folding electric bike on the market. The Phantom X2 features the superior strength and high-end torque of a 500-watt, direct-drive motor mounted in the rear wheel and provides 720 watts at peak. Riders rave about the elite components and adjustability of this matte black-and-red beauty. The precise engineering of the SRAM drive train consisting of an X7 Twist 8-speed shifter and X7 8-speed mid derailleur will satisfy smart riders. Thanks to the high efficiency 38-volt, 12-amp hour advanced lithium ion battery (LiFePO4) the Phantom X2 has a maximum range of 38 miles per charge. Just give a half-twist to the "power-on-demand" propulsion throttle and off you go. Or, if you prefer, pedal as you would on a regular bicycle for routine exercise. The 58-pound Phantom X2 also boasts a foldable, lightweight, aircraft-grade, aluminum alloy frame and a shock-minimizing 120-mm ZXR magnesium suspension fork. The smooth and responsive Avid BB7 disc brake system along with Avid 180-mm, HS1 heat-shedding rotors are the best in their class and provide incredible stopping power. Continental Traffic 26-inch tires and triple-box wide 32-mm rims roll fast on pavement, but also inspire confidence on dirt and gravel trails. This high-end component package results in one enjoyable ride. Great for taking on the bus, train, or subway for longer commutes. Electric ride is smooth, easy, and enjoyable. 5Fantastic Bike
By Amos
This bike really answered my needs - 5 star for matching my expectations.I have a 9 mile commute each way. I wanted a bike that will let me get to work and back faster than my car, not too sweaty and not too tired. This bike does it. It also looks like a bike and not a motorcycle and not dorky. My main reason for not riding to work before was that you get there sweaty, it takes you extra time to put bike clothes then change to work clothes and you're not looking for the effort on some days. Then, you ride home, the wife hands you the kids while you're still gasping for air. The bike has a pretty strong engine (500W) which is actually enough to avoid paddling altogether if you wish to do so. You can paddle as hard as you want for exercise. The bike is really fun to ride - an OK shock absorber and fat tires make the ride mostly smooth and the speed allows you to cruise past people which is fun too.Pros:* Really good build quality. Things are in the right place and work and look good.* Rides nice - mountain-style build makes it easy for commuting over road bumps, pot holes and curbs.* Value to cost - I expect to recover the cost of the bike in under 5 months of riding it.* Faster than my car - at over 20mph on the bike I can beat my car by going through shorter routes and avoid traffic.* Engine is super quiet - you can cycle past the riders in full gear and let them think you're on a regular bike* Engine is not connected to the gear so you can be on any gear when starting from a full stop* Really fast - Can go 20+ mph consistently on flats and very slight up-hill. On steeper hill drops to 10-12 mph without paddle.* Can go 25 miles on full throttle on one charge (but barely)Cons:* Rear light (on battery) turns on when riding in the rain and takes some time to turn off (until battery dries up)* Gear switch for back-wheel gear is on the left handle and feels opposite to what you expect. Takes a bit of getting used to* Cannot install a rack in the back (Prodeco said they're planning on a new rack but haven't seen it yet). This means I'm forced to have a backpack.* The handlebar is very curved. Any accessories you put on the bar tries to slide to the sides (away from the middle)* Back break is not easy to align due to the engine placement behind it on the wheel.Bike comes mostly ready after delivery but I had to tune the breaks as they either shifted in delivery or were not properly aligned.Overall - while the bike is not perfect - it is perfect for the price. If you're commuting to work and want a car alternative without requiring full gym session each way then this is bike is a perfect solution for it.

5buy it don't build it
By Jason
where to begin...I certainly like it. The warranty is what sealed the deal for me as opposed to building one piecewise. its too easy to get swept up with all that is good with the bike...the components are all familiar brand names ...there is alot of mass in the back of the bike which generally goes unnoticed...its balance is only an issue when your stopped and think you can steady the bike between your legs alone. the folding aspect is nice...a small gripe, but i would have liked to see the tires line up...its actually quite dificult to lift and store with both tires on because of this misalignment, however; take the front wheel off and it becomes a lot easier to tuck away behind a seat...that said, the bike when folded has a tendency to tear at the front fork with or without the tire removed...i have cut a 1.5in inner tube and use it as a rubber bumper on the front forks...the 8th gear is for promotional purposes only...in 8th gear it feels as if you are working against the motor and probably why my pedals are make clicking noises now. in 7th gear with a pretty brisk cadence leaves you in the 20-22mph zone. which i can tell you is right in the butter zone for beating down on the "lycras"...the claimed range is relative...dont expect to ride it like a moped for 20+miles...but defintely expect to go 28 miles with nearly unrestrained assist with some pedaling...beyond that boils down to conservation and management. i live and ride around hills and mountains consistently going 25 miles with 2000ft hill climbs finishing with some energy to spare. i have ran the battery dead once and pedaling this 68lb thing home without assist will teach you all you need to know about battery management...but alas it was torture and worth noting the "slight resistance" from the motor is a relative term...it wasnt untenable but noticable. the battery gauge is really not functional and isn't of any diagnostic use at all. the power meter on the throttle is helpful in judging how fast your draining the battery but is a matter of interpretation to discern how much energy is left...i have traveled to places i would have never gone to without an e-bike. it really does turn the uphills flat and the flats to downhill...i feel the 500w motor is adequate for the steepest of hill climbs and offers a very good range without asking for a huge expensive battery pack...the battery, rated at 2000 charges is the weak link in every e-bike; nonetheless is covered in the waranty for two years so ride on... i think the prodeco phantom x2 has lived up to and exceeded my expectations and love showing it off...having it turn key ready with a two year end to end warranty leaves it a no brainer as to purchase...if i needed another e-bike; Prodeco is the first place i would look...
