2013 Model

The new model is somewhat different that what is pictured - the battery sits on the rear bike rack, so might want to purchase a storage carrier if you need storage. It does not come with a water bottle cage. Upon inquiring, was told the new battery is an upgrade. Also, the pedal assistant is different - an improvement in that it allows three different levels of pedal assistant. You can also use the throttle if you don't want to pedal. The bike came with a normal seat, but upon request, I was provided with the oversize leather seat pictured. The bike has a heavy duty bike frame and the gearing seems to be quality. I also like the braking system (no rim pads!!). On yeah, a t-shirt was included with the bike. Of importance, I traded several emails to inquire about the assembly and operation. The seller was very responsive!! That really made me feel good as the bike did not come with a "user manual". They will also work with you to resolve all issues. The GBE has good power on steep inclines and smooth power assist on level ground. It is an expensive bike, but I also own a Cyclamatic and the GBE has higher quality gears and brakes. The dark brown frame looks nice with the tan handle grips and matching seat. Heads turn when I cruise by on this bike. More over, it provides for a controlled ride with the oversize wheels. The shocks in the saddle post and the front fork provide sufficient cushion when hitting bumps in the road. Overall, I like this bike and think it will provide many years of fun. Once you go electric, you won't go back to a traditional bike.

ONE HELL OF A NICE ELECTRIC BIKE!

I found this electric bike after research and riding almost all of the competition available to me in California.I am a large man who needs an electric bicycle with enough power to keep me going up hills and other physical barriers.The GBE GTO has a big power 500 watts motor I had to have plus the front and seat shock absorbers to make my bike rides easy on my old hide.The 36 volt Li-ion battery keeps me from being stranded far from home thanks to new electrical storage technology.The color combination of chocolate brown with tan seat and handle bar grips sets this bike apart from all the rest out there.In short, my second choice electric bike retailed for almost $3000.00, was made in Switzerland, and had a vague seller network. The GBE GTO Beach Cruiser seller, on the other hand, always replies to my emails and was more than happy to let me test drive the bike at his distribution center in the SF Bay Area.The only room for improvement I can see is the need for a better owner's manual and assembly instructions.What the heck, the seller is a small start up compared to the rest so I am sure these electric bikes will go up in price because there are very few competitors at this price point offering as much value as this product.I would buy another bike from this seller!

wow, I've always been a fan of retro-beach cruiser bikes.I owned an Electra bike and this GBE e-bike has the same cool body design as the Townie model.Nice paint quality and reasonably good gears, shifter, and brakes. maybe the brake can be a bit tougher. but manageable.the difference is the electric motor!!e-bikes are so much fun. you ride like a regular bike and when you need power like going uphills or accelerating the motor is powerful. I get a speed rush when I pedal and going full throttle at the same time. This thing is FAST!!The operation is smooth and simple. I actually thinking biking to work/errands are fun now.well, I kind of need the exercise. shouldn't be using motor. bUt the fun part keeps me riding longer and more often. so I guess it's all GOOD !!
